Tell us what you are seeing and roughly where, and we will tell you what it is likely to be before anyone visits. Photographs of the affected area and of the terrace or wet area above it help us a great deal.

Three things worth mentioning when you get in touch

• When it appears. A leak that follows rain, one that follows use of a bathroom above, and one that never stops at all are three different faults with three different costs. This single detail narrows it more than anything else you can tell us.
• How long it has been happening. Staining is one job; blistered plaster is another; spalling concrete with reinforcement showing is a structural repair with a waterproofing component and should not wait.
• Whether anyone has treated it before. Most of the work we are called to has been attempted at least once. Knowing what was applied and where saves us both time.

For anything urgent, calling is faster than the form. Emergency leak-stopping and injection grouting can be carried out during the monsoon; full re-coating needs a dry substrate and a clear curing window.
