Before anyone opens a sunk slab or chases a wall, the reinforcement, conduit and pipework inside it need locating. A wall scanner does that non-destructively — which on a suspected concealed-plumbing leak is the difference between one precise opening and a wall full of exploratory holes.

How we choose between them

A radar scanner sees deeper into concrete and distinguishes object types; a simpler multi detector is adequate for finding conduit and rebar near the surface in masonry. Depth of the element you are hunting is the deciding factor — and on any structural element, a scan is not a substitute for the drawings where those exist.
