Where reinforcement has begun to corrode, the concrete cover spalls off and no waterproofing coating will hold on what is left. Concrete repair comes before waterproofing on any structure showing exposed rebar — coating over active corrosion simply hides it while it keeps growing.

Where it is used

How we choose between them

Depth and structural significance decide it. Shallow, non-structural patches take a hand-applied polymer-modified mortar. Deeper repairs, or anywhere the section is load-bearing, take a flowable micro-concrete poured into formwork. In both cases the exposed reinforcement is cleaned and treated first — that step is not optional.
