A crack is not a cosmetic problem, it is the water path. But filling one correctly depends entirely on whether it is still moving — a live crack filled with rigid material simply cracks again along the same line, which is why so many crack repairs fail within a year.

Where it is used

Plaster and masonry cracks on internal and external walls, shrinkage cracks in RCC slabs and screeds, structural cracks at wall-to-column junctions, and cracks opened by seasonal soil or thermal movement.

How we choose between them

First we establish whether the crack is dormant or live. Dormant cracks are cut out and filled rigidly. Live cracks — which is what you have in Indore on black cotton soil, or in Delhi and Jaipur from thermal cycling — need either a movement-accommodating sealant or a flexible bridging membrane over the top. Filling a live crack rigidly is wasted money.
