Product description

Where SmartCare Waterproofing Putty is used

This product is specified for walls.

• Levelling exterior walls before a waterproof coating
• Interior walls in damp-prone rooms
• Filling and smoothing after crack repair
• Preparing a surface for a smooth paint finish

Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, Concrete.

How it is applied

Applied to a clean, sound, dampened substrate in thin coats and allowed to cure between them. Putty over a wall that is still passing moisture traps the water behind a hard layer and blows off in sheets, so substrate moisture is checked first.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
