Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies SmartCare Damp Proof as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where SmartCare Damp Proof is used

This product is specified for terrace, roof, walls.

• Flat RCC terraces and roof slabs
• Parapet walls and sunshades
• Exterior vertical walls susceptible to water ingress
• Combined waterproofing and repainting programmes

Suitable substrates: RCC, Plaster, Masonry.

How it is applied

Applied by brush or roller over a cleaned, crack-treated and primed surface in the number of coats the data sheet specifies, with reinforcement worked into junctions and treated cracks. Ponding is corrected and outlets re-formed first — a coating cannot compensate for a roof that does not drain.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
