Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies SmartCare Crack Seal Advanced as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where SmartCare Crack Seal Advanced is used

This product is specified for cracks, walls.

• Cracks that reopen every season
• Buildings on expansive black cotton soil
• Elevations with significant thermal movement
• Cracks where a rigid filler has already failed once

Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, Concrete.

How it is applied

The crack is cut to a proper profile, cleaned and filled, with the filler allowed to cure before anything is coated over it. The point of the advanced grade is that it keeps moving with the crack instead of parting from it.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
