Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Akrylmax Prime as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where Akrylmax Prime is used

This product is specified for joints, walls.

• Priming joint faces in concrete and masonry
• Porous substrates before sealant application
• Joints cut fresh into concrete
• Any joint where sealant adhesion is critical

Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, Concrete.

How it is applied

Applied to the cleaned joint faces and allowed to develop before the sealant is gunned in. On a dusty joint face no sealant, at any price, will hold.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
