Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies SmartCare AkrylMax as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where SmartCare AkrylMax is used

This product is specified for joints, walls.

• Interior joints and gaps before painting
• Frame-to-plaster junctions
• Skirting and architrave gaps
• Interior finishing work

Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, Timber.

How it is applied

Gunned into a cleaned gap, tooled flush and painted once cured. It handles limited movement, so a genuine structural joint takes the hybrid PU sealant instead.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
