Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies SmartCare Hybrid PU Sealant as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where SmartCare Hybrid PU Sealant is used

This product is specified for joints, walls, terrace.

• Movement and expansion joints in walls and slabs
• Perimeter sealing around frames
• Joints that need painting over afterwards
• Junctions between dissimilar materials

Suitable substrates: Concrete, Masonry, Metal, Timber.

How it is applied

Applied into a cleaned joint with backer rod fitted to control depth, then tooled to a concave profile. Backer rod matters — a sealant bonded on three faces cannot stretch and tears instead.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
