Where SmartCare Damp Block 2K – Prime is used

This product is specified for walls, damp walls.

• Brick masonry walls
• Interior plaster on damp-affected walls
• Boundary and parapet masonry
• Older brick construction with no damp-proof course

Suitable substrates: Masonry, Brick, Plaster.

How it is applied

Mixed to the specified ratio and brush applied in coats at right angles over a cleaned, dampened substrate. On old brickwork the substrate is checked for loose pointing first — a coating over failed mortar joints bonds to something that is already coming away.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
