Bosch GIS 1000 C Professional
Thermo detector
The Bosch GIS 1000 C Professional is a thermo detector that reads surface temperature alongside ambient humidity, and flags conditions where condensation and mould are likely. It sits between a spot thermometer and a full thermal camera, and it is the instrument that answers the question a camera raises.

Product description
Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Bosch GIS 1000 C Professional as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.
Where Bosch GIS 1000 C Professional is used
This product is specified for walls, damp walls, bathroom, terrace.
- Confirming a cold spot found with a thermal camera
- Assessing condensation and mould risk in a poorly ventilated room
- Spot-checking damp across a wall in a grid pattern
- Checking surface conditions before applying a coating
- Comparing readings between a suspect area and a known-dry reference
Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, RCC, Tile.
How it is applied
Readings are taken as a grid across the suspect area and against a dry reference point on the same wall, because an absolute number means little on its own — it is the difference between wet and dry areas of the same construction that identifies the problem.
Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
Key properties
- Surface temperature plus ambient humidity in one instrument
- Flags condensation and mould risk conditions
- Stores readings for the inspection record
- Faster and cheaper than a thermal camera for spot work
- Point measurement — it does not survey an area the way a camera does
