Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Newcoat as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where Dr. Fixit Newcoat is used

This product is specified for terrace, roof.

• RCC terraces on houses, apartments and society buildings
• Roofs being treated before the monsoon as preventive work
• Terraces where an older coating has been stripped back
• Parapet upstands and slab junctions as part of the roof system
• Roof areas that will take light foot traffic for maintenance only

Suitable substrates: RCC, Screed, Plaster.

How it is applied

Applied over a primed and prepared slab by brush or roller in successive coats, with mesh reinforcement at junctions and over filled cracks. Ponding areas are corrected and outlets re-formed before coating — a coating cannot fix a roof that does not drain.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
