Dr. Fixit PU Sealant

Dr. Fixit PU Sealant is a polyurethane sealant for joints that move and are exposed to weather or traffic — expansion joints in slabs, movement joints in elevations, and the perimeter gaps that open and close through the year.

Where Dr. Fixit PU Sealant is used

This product is specified for joints, terrace, walls.

• Expansion and movement joints in slabs and decks
• Movement joints in external walls and parapets
• Joints that will be trafficked or exposed to weather
• Perimeter sealing around frames on exposed elevations
• Construction joints subject to differential movement

Suitable substrates: Concrete, RCC, Masonry, Metal.

How it is applied

The joint is cleaned, primed where the substrate requires it, and backer rod fitted to control depth so the sealant can stretch across the joint rather than being bonded on three faces. Gunned in and tooled to a concave finish that keeps it in compression at the edges.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
