Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Roofseal Classic as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where Dr. Fixit Roofseal Classic is used

This product is specified for terrace, roof.

• Flat and low-slope RCC terraces in sound condition
• Roof slabs with fine shrinkage cracking
• Mumty roofs, chajjas and small roof areas
• Recoating a terrace whose previous acrylic system has aged out
• Roofs where budget rules out a membrane system

Suitable substrates: RCC, Screed, Plaster.

How it is applied

Applied by brush or roller over a primed, cleaned and crack-treated slab, in the number of coats and at the interval given in the data sheet. Coats are applied in alternate directions so the film builds evenly, and reinforcing mesh is worked into junctions and treated cracks before the final coat.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
