Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP is an SBR latex used both as a bonding agent between old and new concrete and as a modifier that makes a site-batched repair mortar more flexible and less permeable. It is the most generally useful product in the Dr. Fixit repair range.
Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP is used
This product is specified for concrete, cracks, bathroom.
- Bond coat before patch repairs and replastering
- Modifier for site-mixed repair mortar and screed
- Slurry coat over prepared concrete before new material is placed
- Waterproof rendering on bathroom and terrace substrates
- Bonding new screed to an existing terrace slab
Suitable substrates: Concrete, Plaster, Mortar.
How it is applied
Used two ways: brushed onto the prepared substrate as a bond coat, and gauged into the repair mortar as a modifier. The new material must go on while the bond coat is still tacky — if it is allowed to dry fully first, the bond it was meant to create is lost.
Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
Key properties
- Bonds new concrete, mortar and plaster to old
- Improves flexibility and reduces permeability of repair mortar
- Improves resistance to shrinkage cracking
- Suitable for internal and external use
- Doubles as a general-purpose repair additive
