Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Bathseal as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where Dr. Fixit Bathseal is used

This product is specified for bathroom, wet areas.

• Bathroom and toilet sunk slabs
• Shower walls behind tiling
• Wall-to-floor junctions in wet areas
• Utility and washing areas
• Kitchen floors adjacent to wet zones

Suitable substrates: RCC, Screed, Plaster.

How it is applied

Brush applied in successive coats over a cleaned, dampened substrate, with corner and junction tape embedded as the system is built up. The sunk portion is flood-tested before it is filled — testing after tiling tells you there is a problem but not where it is.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
