Dr. Fixit LW+

Dr. Fixit LW+ is an integral waterproofing compound added to concrete, plaster and mortar at the mixing stage. Rather than forming a barrier on the surface, it reduces the permeability of the mix itself, so the material resists water from the day it is placed.

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit LW+ as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where Dr. Fixit LW+ is used

This product is specified for concrete, walls, basement.

• RCC slabs, columns and beams during construction
• External plaster on elevations exposed to driven rain
• Bedding mortar in brickwork and blockwork
• Screeds laid on terraces before a coating system goes on
• Repair concrete placed against an area with a known water problem

Suitable substrates: Concrete, Plaster, Mortar.

How it is applied

Added to the gauging water and mixed thoroughly before the mix is placed. Dosage is by cement weight and is set by the current data sheet — under-dosing gives no benefit and over-dosing affects the set, so it is measured rather than estimated on site.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
