Priced before we start. No surprises later.
Dr. Fixit Fastflex is a two-component flexible cementitious waterproof coating. Because it is cement based it bonds into the substrate rather than sitting on it as a film, which is what makes it suitable under tiles and inside tanks where the waterproofing will be permanently buried.
Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Fastflex as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where Dr. Fixit Fastflex is used
This product is specified for bathroom, wet areas, water tanks, basement.
- Bathroom and toilet sunk slabs before filling and tiling
- Shower areas and wall-to-floor junctions
- Water tanks, sumps and reservoirs
- Basement walls treated from the inside

Suitable substrates: RCC, Screed, Plaster, Masonry.
How it is applied
The powder and liquid components are mixed at the ratio given in the data sheet — this is not a product to gauge by eye — and applied by brush in two or more coats at right angles to one another. Corners, junctions and pipe penetrations are reinforced with tape before the final coat, and wet areas are flood-tested before they are filled.
Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
Key properties
- Flexible enough to bridge fine cracks in the substrate
- Bonds into the substrate rather than forming a loose film
- Can be tiled over directly
- Suitable for water-retaining structures
- Works on both internal and external faces
