Product description

Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Raincoat as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where Dr. Fixit Raincoat is used

This product is specified for walls.

• External elevations taking driven monsoon rain
• Parapet walls, inside and outside faces
• Boundary and compound walls
• Elevations being waterproofed as part of a repainting programme
• Shared and party walls between adjoining buildings

Suitable substrates: Plaster, Masonry, Concrete.

How it is applied

Applied by brush or roller over cleaned, crack-treated and primed plaster in the specified number of coats. Cracks are cut and filled first — a coating spanned across an untreated open crack will split along it at the first thermal cycle.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
