Priced before we start. No surprises later.
Dr. Fixit Bathseal Tape reinforces the corners, junctions and penetrations that a brush cannot properly build up. It is a small line on an estimate and accounts for a disproportionate share of whether a wet area stays dry.
Leakproofs by Betterwork specifies and applies Dr. Fixit Bathseal Tape as part of a complete waterproofing system. A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. That is why we deep-scan before we specify.

Where Dr. Fixit Bathseal Tape is used
This product is specified for bathroom, wet areas, joints.
- Wall-to-floor junctions in bathrooms and showers
- Internal and external corners in wet areas
- Around floor traps and pipe penetrations
- Over construction joints within a wet area
- Over filled cracks in a sunk slab before coating
Suitable substrates: RCC, Screed, Plaster.
How it is applied
Bedded into the first coat of the waterproofing membrane while it is still wet, then covered by the following coats so it is fully encapsulated. Tape laid on top of a cured membrane, rather than into it, is decoration.
Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
Key properties
- Reinforces junctions where movement concentrates
- Bridges cracks in the substrate beneath
- Flexible enough to accommodate differential movement
- Encapsulated within the membrane system
- Used at corners, joints and penetrations as standard
