Dr. Fixit Silicone Sealant

Dr. Fixit Silicone Sealant is for glass, aluminium and sanitary junctions — the non-porous surfaces where a polyurethane sealant will not achieve reliable adhesion. The trade-off is that nothing will paint over it afterwards.

A material on its own does not stop a leak — what stops it is the right material chosen for the right defect, on a surface that has been properly prepared. Where Dr. Fixit Silicone Sealant is used

This product is specified for joints, bathroom.

• Glazing perimeters and glass-to-frame junctions
• Aluminium window and door frames
• Sanitary fittings, basins and shower trays
• Junctions between tile and sanitaryware
• Weather sealing around non-porous cladding elements

Suitable substrates: Glass, Aluminium, Ceramic, Metal.

How it is applied

Applied to clean, dry, grease-free surfaces and tooled to a neat concave profile. Old silicone is fully cut out before resealing — new silicone will not bond to cured silicone, and a bead applied over the top will peel away within months.

Preparation is the part that decides whether the system lasts. Loose material and failed old coatings are removed, cracks are cut and filled, and the surface is cleaned and brought to the moisture condition the product requires before anything is applied. Skipping that stage is the single most common reason waterproofing fails in its first season, whichever brand is on the tin.
